How to Follow Fashion Week from Home

Now, not all of us are fortunate enough to live in New York, Paris, Milan or London, but we all want to follow our favourite designers as they unveil their vision for the next season. Ideally, I'd be in the front row for each and every show, but unfortunately this currently isn't the case.
Someone stole my seat!
With New York's fashion week now at a close, and the other major weeks coming up, it can be difficult to sift through all of the shows with so many magazines, industry insiders and bloggers reporting on it. With all this information, it's tough to find what you're looking for, whether it be a specific show, or a specific trend that is common through many shows. Here are a few resources that I use to go through the clutter:

Obviously the first place to start is the Fashion Week's website. I've been on mbfashionweek.com this entire week looking at updated coverage and the latest from shows. For MFW, LFW and PFW, the first place you should check on their respective websites is the Schedules tab. Make a list of must-see shows and you can follow up later and watch the live feeds. Spread it out over the week so you're not overwhelmed with interest!

Another website I swear by is Style.com. They have photos of every runway show, and even do breakdowns of trends to love!

Finally, take a peek at twitter to see what everyone's saying. Follow your favourite designer (for some behind the scenes extras hopefully!), and make sure to search the hashtag every once in awhile. #NYFW

Happy Fashion Hacking!

  3. I use Style.com almost exclusively, and Tumblr for extras like finale shots... Shows that I like a lot, I also look for (and find, usually) on youtube. I particularly love to look at the videos from Haute Couture.

and you're right, Fashion Week can be overwhelming even for the "at-home" fashion follower, I can only imagine what it's like for the people that are present to all four of them at a lot of shows.
